About Me

A love of learning is at the core of who I am. Learning through structured classes, or through random curiosity I am most alive any myself when I am learning and growing.

This love brought me to teaching, combined with my love of adventure, connection, and music. I've held roles in public and private schools, teaching music and social emotional skills, and I've held roles in not for profit adventure education settings, providing therapeutic and adventure learning for students aged 5-65.

Through these experiences, I leaned heavily on my love of learning to prepare myself with the tools and mindsets I needed to be effective, joyful and resilient in such a wide variety of professional spaces. I don't have it all figured out, but I have developed a deep skill set that is transferable to any educational setting.

This is where REP comes in! As former high school students of mine went off to study education in college themselves they came back home and shared how the training they are receiving at respectable institutions of higher education didn't feel adequate preparation for a successful career in education. These comments reminded me of my early years as an educator, surviving through the 'sink or swim' first year of teaching and my professors telling me I 'just need to be in a classroom and you'll figure things out'.

I believe there is a better way. Through cohort model learning blended with 1:1 coaching, early educators can continue to be supported in their teacher development, gain classroom management and curriculum skills, and a sense of competency, balance, and agency.
